The vegetarian breakfast can be vegan, without the Quorn sausages and egg, they only use vegetable based oils in all their cooking. The beans are vegan friendly Heinz and these can be also served on white or wholegrain toast. The homemade soup is only ever made with vegetable stock, onion, celery, vegetables and herbs. There is the very odd exception when they have broccoli & stilton soup, but this is very infrequent. if vegans inform them they are coming in advance, they can guarantee a suitable soup is available. The cafe can also provide jacket potatoes with beans and toasted teacakes.
Buttered Crust is a very flexible small business, with many of their suppliers in walking distance. Therefore it is fairly easy to adapt dishes and they are always willing and happy to prepare vegan customers own food and drink. Soya milk is not stocked normally but the staff can go and purchase some, if required.
